Job Summary:
The Service Enhancement Team (SET) of West Michigan CMH facilitates organizational performance improvement and continuous quality improvement, performance management and compliance, system and program evaluation, and outcome analysis and monitoring. The SET Business Analyst is responsible for leveraging analytical and technical skills within this team and the organization to examine and interpret internal and external data sources to identify meaningful patterns that can help WMCMH leaders ensure continuous improvements to care. The SET Business Analyst plans, executes and monitors business processes to identify analytical requirements and scopes of inquiry by working with key stakeholders. From these, the SET Business Analyst prepares compelling reports that combine visualizations, data and narratives that can be readily understood, including reports required to fulfill contractual obligations.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Works closely with the Information Systems Team and electronic medical record (EMR) system vendor to define and grow EMR capabilities that enhance Clinical Business Intelligence for the organization

2. Working with the Information Systems Team and organizational leaders, assists in the development of internal and external dashboards to measure progress/success

3. Conducts end-to-end analysis of service programs from data capture to presentation; captures and analyzes data, and reports findings using a variety of techniques

4. Provides internal and external data analysis and management for analyzing organizational performance, business modeling, strategic planning, quality initiatives, and general business operations

5. Conducts, studies, gathers, and analyzes data from various sources including but not limited to the internal data warehouse, and externally available research data, public data, and other data sources to develop reports, summaries, recommendations, and visual representations

6. Advises and assists SET and other WMCMH staff to determine the appropriate analytical methodology to meet their objectives

7. Utilizes statistical methods and software to develop and interpret statistical results

8. Formulates and maintains, with other stakeholders, a set of benchmarks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for WMCMHS

9. Advances SET-approved metrics in the areas of Access, Assessment, Service Delivery, Utilization Review and Customer Satisfaction.

10. Maintains awareness of and follows all applicable Federal, State and contractual guidelines and applicable accreditation standards

11. Analyzes new developments in data mining, data visualization, predictive analysis and statistical methodologies through research, education and training.

Job Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Health Informatics, Business Administration with an Information Systems focus, or other computer science/information systems related curriculum is required. Master’s degree preferred.

    2. Strong emphasis will be given to candidate with certification in LEAN and/or Six Sigma

    3. The position incumbent must have at least 1 year of experience in data modeling using a relational database management system and 1 year of statistical and/or research methodology.

    4. Work experience in the health care field, including some supervisory experience is desirable.

    5. Must possess a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation to and from meetings and activities at varying work locations including all agency locations in Lake, Mason, and Oceana Counties.

    6. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders are valued.
